Q. If there is a situation, where we need to code more than 255 steps in a JOB?
A. We need to split jcl into two jcls , at the end of the first jcl check the condition code and initiate the second jcl.

Your description and example are unclear.
What do you mean by "10th bytes" - what do you mean by "8th field"?
Please indicate which values you want to use as the keys (is it '11111' and '1' in the first three records and '22222' and '2' in the last 2 records). Please indicate which values you want to sum - I don't see how you got a total of 678259 from any of the values shown.
Is your input really as shown? Are there really blanks in between the fields?
You need to do a much better job of showing your example of input and output and explaining what you want to do.
Giving the starting position, length and format of each "field" would help. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM) - email@example.com
