Hi,

As per my knowledge, we use IDCAMS verify command to close the files. I mean, suppose a COBOL program that uses a KSDS file abends and it does not close the VSAM cluster. So, when some other program accesses the same cluster then it will get "Unable to open error" on the cluster. So, to avoid it we use VERIFY command to close the files before accessing it.

Please let me know if my understanding is wrong.

Thanks.
