If you get client approval on that, delete it in production itself. otherwise... copy production data to development and and delete that record and reload production file with development file ( if ...

This is like a interview question. In CICS/BMS maps when you want to to scroll up / scroll down the data, user press a funcation key, control goes back to cics logic, we need handle that using CICS commands. I have worked on CICS few years ago... i am not remembered that logic now.. can anybody help...

if you are not authroized to edit the file... you should not edit that file.

My suggestion is to change your program to handle invalid records & write invalid
record into expception file and continue with next record. display the exception count at the end of the program.

Yes, it is possible to change the retention period of a file.
But, In my company, we send a request to Tape file admin group to do this.
We dont have authrity to do it.
