"UNMERGE"

HI, I've got 2 Files and my desired result is kind of "intersection" of those 2 files. I want all records that occur in File01 but DO NOT occur in File02 Example: File01 AAA BBB DDD File02 AAA BBB CCC EEE My desired Output DDD Because DDD occurs in File01 but does not occur in File02. Thanks for you...

Actually I didnt want to justify my intention but only a solution for my problem. My program accesses a DB2 table that contains a packed-decimal field which is nullable. The output is a flat file for another application. This application wants to know whether the field contains zero or null and to d...

I know it is stupid but the resulting file is used as a load file into a DB2 database and low-value in a COMP-3 field is the equivalent of NULL in a DB2 datafield.

I tried your recommended solution but it resulted in a IGYPS2214-S message. :(

Append a semicolon

I get comma sperated values in a variable file. The problem is that the last seperator (a semicolon) is missing. The COBOL UNSTRING instruction needs a seperator to process the last field.

How can I append a semicolon on each input record and thereby increasing the length of the variable record by 1

Insert a header record

I have to reformat records using an OUTREC statement AND I would like to insert a header record containing some constants AND the current date. I solved the issue by using a OUTFIL statement with a HEADER1 but the problem is that HEADER1 needs an FBA File as output.

Is there another solution?
