You need to provide a more clear explanation of what you want to do. You have not explained "the rules".
means in this file every 1-5 have 1-6 entries
What does this mean?

You need to post the output you want from the specified input.

Suggest you work with your manager and the Operations manager and have this set up to be submitted manually each morning.

If it is a business need, and the system uses scheduling software, this should be able to be scheduled . . .

Depending on just what these process(es) do, the check[point/restat may have additional complexity. . .

Any running totals, printed output, written data to other files for later use, etc must be considered. Keeping track of position is only part of the restart.

First you neet to get a list of all of the datasets showing dsn and create date.

Then you need to pass this list creating a new list of those created before the specified date.

Suggest you arrange the dates as yyyy/mm/dd for ease of comparison.

Are these database tables or vsam files or . . .?

Organizations typically have a standard process for checkpoint/restart.

You need to use whatever is the standard method in your organization.

With the new faster cous & dasd many places no longer implement checkpoint/restart for batch jobs.

Suggest you look in the IMS documentation. If you find something that is not clear, post what you found and your doubt.

Someone should be able to clarify.

The Syncsort documentation is available free (for organizations that are licensed) from Syncsort Support. It is rather painless to do this. There is a SEARCH function available at the top of the page. Look in the DFSORT part of the forum for the value IFTHEN and you will find several topics to review.

As far as i know, these manuals are available free for authorized users (a license is in place).

To get the manuals (if your organization has licensed the product) you can download them from the CA support site (SUPPORT.CA.COM). You have to register, but this is rather painless and is free also.
