Raji, Normally it would be something to do with your Job card. Check ur accounting information , Jobname...class i mean entire Job card... Did u check the JESMSG....it should give you the reason ..with some jobcode or something... If you can share us more info then we can try to get the exact reason...

Hi Sandeep, I dont think so there is a way by which the system calcualtes the space by itself based on the no of recs in the I/P file. Well, you have any issue with the RLSE parameter anyhow the memory gets released correct...no matter how much you specify. Otherwise you can go for Tapes...if you ha...

Karthik, Try this...with LISTCAT LEVEL //PS010 EXEC PGM=IDCAMS //SYSPRINT DD DUMMY //SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=* //SYSIN DD * LISTCAT LEVEL(DATASET NAME) The above JCL gives return-code of 0 when you have generations for the dataset if you do not have any generations it will return 4. Thanks, Veera.

1) What is meant by protect and unprotect fields ? Protect and unprotect are the attributes you assign to the fields in a MAP. Protected fields are those in which user cannot enter the data... in a way its not editable... Unprotected fields are those in which user can key-in data... i mean editable....
