Can anybody tell me what is future of mainframe in upcoming decade ?
The mainframe will be here for the next decade - in one form or another. There is too much invested in the systems in use to just "go away".

Actually I'm not aware what are the code tags etc ,so i have ignored it. If you reply using the "Quick Reply", the Code tag is not there to click. Neither is the Quote tag (used to quote your reply). Click Preview and other features become available above the text area. Using Preview also lets you ...

What is in this file? // DD DISP=SHR,DSN=G243852.TEST.CSVFILE2 What are the dcb parameters for this file? You question mentions "alignment". The output appears to be aligned. . . Where did the space lines come from? As NicC mentioned, you should provide requested info. Even if you do not understand ...

Welcome to the forum! It is not clear what you have as output. It is also not clear what you want that would be different. You need to post the jcl and control statements you are using to create the output from the input. While there needs to be some JCL to run your process, it is probably being don...

Well, it would be best to install the product . . .

Ask your system support if you are permitted to use TERSE and if so, how to use it. This works for mainframe to mainframe, but I don't believe it will work gong to a Win-baser or *nix server.

but, this method is bit faster than FIND command is it so??
Lik NicC, i dont believe so.

Suggest you create a Very large test file and try both ways.

Suggest you run both in batch so there will be footprints to follow.

Yes, you can do this. Read the array data and release entries to the SORT. Return the sorted entries and write them into the array. If the array is already built, loop thru the array and each time thru release the entry to the SORT. If this code builds the unsorted array suggest you Not load the arr...

Why are Ram and Afasar not to be sorted? It is one thing to skip (or modify) invalid records. It is another to stop the run on the first invalid data. Most business processes do Not want to discard records because another is in error. This will not be done with JCL. It will require some utility, sor...

Could anyone of you suggest me which one of the following is the best suits for me? No one at a forum can tell you this. It depends on what you like to do and have an interest pursuing. Be wary of anythking posted that says "here's what you should do". Much of what you mention Is mainframe technolo...

Sorry to say but they dont use ICETOOL either
Does this mean they are simply unwilling to use it or that there is no ICETOOL on their system?

I refered post from here only to arrive at this jcl code . As i mentioned earlier, you should use jcl and control statements that are already working on your system - not something found in a forum. Now, i need data in subject line as well as attachment properly. One easy way to get what you want (...
