Hai,

Actually i wanted to know is there any difference between the direct access files and VSAM files. Please explain me in detail.

If my understanding of your question is not wrong, this will be the answer to your quetion:

Direct access files are indexed fiels, i.e. a particular record can be accessed directly using the key of indexed file. These indexed files are one type of VSAM file.
Other 2 types are sequential files and relative files.
