See the following for considerations when sorting VSAM files with DFSORT:

've never worked enough with IAM to understand how buffers are handled with it. the traditional VSAM and sequential file defaults sometimes enable for giant enhancements in EXCP counts and run times by adding buffers, however IAM might not -- you'll have to see the manual. and can use for help

What does IAM have to do with a question about how sort a VSAM file?

Did you look at the post immediately before yours? It has a link to the needed manual - provided by the author of much of DFSORT/ICETOOL.
Have a good one

Well, it is because hashh33 rally needs to go back to his mummy and ask for his nappies (diapers) to be put back on and not to be let out into the big bad world until he has grown up.
