We can view the different datasets at a time using cross reference (XREF) in file-aid. I don't know much about it.

XREF is a function in file-aid which creates and maintains existing file-aid record layout cross references. These XREF's are used to match record layouts to data records in file-aid functions that use formatting.

Thank you srini, I am using File-Aid every day, But Didn't hered about Xref.
Now I understood, That you are using Fileaid for Browsing Datasets using Copybook.
Check below link from Manual section:
http://www.geocities.com/srcsinc/FILEAID.html
From Google:
http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/mrk ... /famvs.pdf
Both are good materials with screen shots.
Hope this will help you...

Hi Srini,
I just want to add some clarification.
The XREF function in File-AID allows the tool to automatically load the correct record layout for the record you are processing. For example, if your file contains record type A, B C and D then the XREF can tell file-AID to select a difference record layout for each of those record types.
You, as the user, have to setup an XREF definition where you must specify the condition (e.g. if RECORD-TYPE=A) and which layout to use if that condition is met.
I find this to be a very useful facility as all of our files contain multiple record-types.
I hope this helps.
Cheers.
