problem with variable length record formats on DS encryption

Post by carpetking » Wed Jan 11, 2012 12:05 am

Hi there everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum, but hopefully, someone here can help me out.

I've been instructed by my manager to mask some sensitive data in our data files to create some test data that will be used by an outside contractor. I've created processes for four files, that were all fixed length, and they seemed to go ok. However, I now have a variable length file that can be up to 31,000 bytes in length per record. I've created a layout for my file which I have then built what I believe to be the needed encryption as well as the XREF for a file that has multiple record layouts.

When I run my File-Aid/Data Solutions job to do the data encryption, I get a message that says 'SC991-RECORD LAYOUT USAGE OF S NOT SAME AS RL USAGE IN SELECTION CRITERIA.'

I can't figure out where it thinks I used an 'S' on my usage. Everywhere that I can think of, I believe I stipulated an 'X' (for xref).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! - Eric -
