I have often wondered how this trend got started, I now have the answer.

A man is at work one day when he notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring. This man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow, and is curious about his sudden change in "fashion sense."

The man walks up to him and says, "I didn't know you were into earrings."

"Don't make such a big deal, it's only an earring, "he replies sheepishly.

His friend falls silent for a few minutes, but then his curiosity prods him to say, "So, how long have you been wearing one?"

"Ever since my wife found it in my car."

Hahaha ! Now I know the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo is almost always wearing earrings. He has many women, and his relationships don't last long. Haha ! You're not good in hiding affairs, Ron ! I'm kidding :-p

because it is in fashion these days and it looks cool...not the ear rings...but studs...

secondly if we see historically...men have always worn something in their ears

Many men wear rings as a fashion trend. Many young men wear ear studs or hoops as a Style statement because they want to or find it attractive or stylish or as a mean to enhance their looks.

When I see a man with an earring, I see someone who seems wounded or has to prove himself. I see a conformist. I see someone who is insecure and has to follow the pack. I don't see a leader. The funny thing is that many people try to get tattooed and pierced to be 'different' but in reality they are just following the crowd that gets tattooed and pierced. The human body is perfect and beautiful the way it is.
