Help me to understand how SPLICE works

Post by rangab » Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:29 am

I was reading the DFSORT z/OS programming guide to understand how SPLICE exactly works ! I thought it was not helpful and does not explain in a detail way of using SPLICE.

Would anybody please help me to understand how exactly the SPLICE operator works.

Thanks in advance & Have a great weekend.

The z/OS DFSORT APG explains in great detail all of the parameters of SPLICE and has many examples. I don't know exactly what else you are looking for.

You could try "z/OS DFSORT: Getting Started" which has a simpler high-level description of SPLICE, or my paper "ICETOOL mini-user guide" which also has a description of SPLICE, or Smart DFSORT Tricks which has many examples using SPLICE.

You can find the ICETOOL paper at: ... g3T7000095
