Hey Frank, I have tried with the INREC you mentioned and it worked. Also removed the BLKSIZE from the DCB, it took BLKSIZE=27920 and have removed NODETAIL from OUTFIL as the data is been replaced with the trailer record. Thanks a lot :)

I have a question in the INREC code below:

Code: Select all

INREC FIELDS=(1:1,3,4:4,19,23:23,4,27:116,19,80:X)
what does 80:X indicate in the end? X is for space as I know and is 80 the column number of the SORTOUT file from where spaces are filler till the end?

80:X fills in spaces from the last specified output position up to and including position 80. In your case, the last specified position is for 27:116,19 which runs up to output position 45, so blanks are filled in from output positions 46-80. This also sets the SORTOUT LRECL to 80.
