Connecting Mutliple CICS regions in the same LPAR

Hello ,

Could you please help me to understand more how the connections are established between CICS regions. and also how to know which CICS regions are active when more regions are connected to one CICS ( Front End). on what basis transactions will be run on the connected regions.
