Initialize command

HI,

could you please explain about the use of initialize command.

I have heard ,it just initializes the address location once if you GIVE command lke THE BELOW ONE.

INITIALIZE VAR1.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.

There is a link to IBM Manuals at the top of the page.

go to a cobol manual and READ
the definition and explanation of the INITIALIZE command.
That is what manuals are for:
you read, and if you have questions, then ask.
But don't expect us to quote the manual for you............................
