Just now i tried to look at the Moderators Only part of the forum.

Got the message that says "Sorry, but only moderators can read topics in this forum."

Is there something i need to do or does some Admin task need to be done?

Thanks,

dd

This Forum does not have the concept of "Global Moderators", you are Moderator of a given group or may more than one. Look at the home-page of this Forum and the Forums you are listed as Moderator, you can moderate them - in other part of the Forums you are just another user. So you (all other moderators too) are Moderator though not "global".

Anuj

Anuj,

I don't think that's the way it works.

DD,

When I look at the Moderators Only Forum, it lists:

Moderator Moderator Group

When I click on Moderator Group, it shows:

Group name: Moderator Group
Group description: This group contains all modertors on this forum
Group membership: You are a member of this group

So apparently you need to be a member of the Moderator Group in order to access the Moderator Only Forum. Perhaps Krishna forgot to make you a member of that group. If that's not the problem, then I guess Krishna will have to figure it out for you.

I'll wait a while and if it rejects my attempt then, i'll pop a reply. . .

Frank,

When your time permits, please try to edit some post in COBOL part of the Forum and see if you are allowed. I suspect you'll be allowed, I can not edit someone elses' post there. Only Dick (dbz) can edit, I believe.

However, I just checked most of the Groups can now be governed by "Moderator Group" but not all - such as I do not have edit authority to COBOL or Sort part of the Forum. Having said that - it looks like it is done lately, possibly after this post from Dick - The Post.

Anuj

No, I can't edit posts in the COBOL Forum. I don't get an Edit button there.

Yes, that's what I was referring to in my previous post. One can't "moderate" all the Forums. One can moderate only that part of the Forum in which s/he is a Moderator. And now, to which "Moderator Group" has the edit authority too.

Anuj

I guess the question is: Is DikDude a member of the Moderator group? If not, Krishna would have to add him to that group.
