Latin-1 special characters are lost when ftped to mainframe

Post by mainframe_new_88 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 7:33 pm

Hello:

I am FTPing a flat file from linux to mainframe. When I do that, latin-1 special characters like fraction, plusminus signs don't translate on to mainframe. For example, fraction will show up as '=' when I look at the data on mainframe.

I am new to this process, so can anyone help?

Thanks

Your network/system guys'n'gals can - you probably need a special code-page on the mainframe to dsplay your data properly.
