Post by sandeepforever007 » Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:17 pm

Hi,
My jcl (using syncsort) sorts some records fetched from the db. I need to add header and trailer to it.
Header should contain datestamp and should be like this
0,YYYYMMDDHHMM

Trailer
Should have the number of records fetched.
How can I achieve this
Pls help
Thanks in advance

I've raised an issue in the forum yesterday regarding the timestamp format in the header for a syncsort program.
Could you pls help me out in that
I've been given the task to complete it by today.

Thanks

To do what you want get the timestamp you want from db2 and use this in the header.

Let sort generate the count in the trailer.

There are multiple examples of creating headers and trailers in the forum. When you have a problem, post what you tried and what happened.

Also, if is Not a good idea to come to a forum with something you want/need that day . . .

Sorry to hear that DikDude - seems as though your typing digit is working fine - hope the rest of you is, too!
