Ref is used to manually refresh the page for latest changes.. that wont stop auto sign out..

Type A in command line and press ctrl.
your session will be refreshed automatically in intervals. you wont be signed out

Hi Rajendra,

Go to SDSF and give &n where n is number of seconds to refresh.

For example &10 will refresh every 10 seconds. You can come out of this by pressing SHIFT+ESC or ATTENTION KEY of your mainframe.

Thanks,
Reddy

&nnn at a SDSF prompt should be used w/caution as some environments
will not allow you to sim/attn back out of SDSF to go do what you need to do. You will effectively "freeze your session" whereby your only out is by calling your HelpDesk for an administrator to force a session-end. If you use Xtra as your session emulator you might be able to do a Session->Disconnect followed by a Session->Connect to wrest control back into your hands.

Bottom line is that I've locked my sessions a few times over the years by using this. Sometimes it works in your favor & sometimes it'll bite you.

as mentioned before, your answer is incorrect.

read a few posts earlier
since you obviously did not before
there is a good explanation of REF
and it has nothing to do with session timeout.

not what you meant.

Many organizations have this disabled. . .

If the terminal has been unused for the timeout period, why should you waste resources to avoid the timeout :?
Have a good one
