MAINFRAME - TIP OF THE DAY :
Sometimes it might be helpful to see only 1 or a few records in HEX (rather than the entire file w/ HEX ON).
When VIEWing or EDITing a file use the line command HX to show that line in HEX. To show 3 records, enter HX3. To turn the hex off enter HX (for 1) or HX3 (for 3). Or in the Command area, enter HEX OFF.

I want to read only the record which has VSAM-KEY-FLAG as 'N'.
I tried like,
MOVE LOW-VALUES TO VSAM-KEY-DATA.
MOVE 'N' TO VSAM-KEY-FLAG.
KEY IS VSAM-KEY-REC
But it's not working, i have record with 'N' in 121th position but i am getting 23 VSAM status. I don't know the remaining keys of vsam i know only the last byte that is 'N'. Please help to resolve this one.
