Hi Guyz...
i have two files File A, File B.
In File A in position 23,24, if i have a value '55', then in File B in position 30 i have to insert a value "P".
If there is no value in position 23,24 of File A, then a value of "S", is to be inserted in Position 30 of File B.

Can we do this using DFsort???If yes please provide me with exact syntax.

Many Thanks in advance.

RAJ.

It's not clear to me exactly what you're trying to do. Please show an example of the records in input FileA and in input FileB and the expected output records, and explain the example. Give the RECFM and LRECL of input FileA and input FileB, and the starting position, length and format of all relevant fields.
