how to update a record in a file using easytrieve

hi

I'm not able to update record in a sequential file kindly help me out to solve this problem.i have to use the same input file as my outfile after updation.how to solve this.

Hi Malini,

U cant update a sequential file.. if u really want to update fields then write the new records to a temporary file ,, pass the file to the next steps
u can copy the temp file to the sequential file with disp=old as it replaces the previous contents
