I have to reformat records using an OUTREC statement AND I would like to insert a header record containing some constants AND the current date. I solved the issue by using a OUTFIL statement with a HEADER1 but the problem is that HEADER1 needs an FBA File as output.

Is there another solution?

If you want an FB file as output, just use the REMOVECC option of OUTFIL.

Code:

    OUTFIL REMOVECC,
       HEADER1=(...)
