Just noticed. my bad. Was so happy to get one of these sort parses to work
I did not bother to double check the TS's request or desired output.
Frank will have to come up with a solution where sometimes the data wraps from on record to another, and sometimes does not. _________________ Dick Brenholtz
JCL, SQL and code in programs have an irritating habit of doing what you say,
not what you meant.
Thanks Dick for the answer, but as MrSpock rightly pointed i need the record to be created by merging ddd and dd.
Also i should mention that the number of delimiters in a single record can also be more than 1.
Is it possible in SORT or should i try with COBOL??

DFSORT does NOT have any built-in functions for "unwrapping" fields that are split between records. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM) - firstname.lastname@example.org
