retrieving deleted GDG version

Post by orchestrate » Thu Oct 13, 2011 8:08 am

Everyday TWS OPC log will be stored in different GDG versions for audit purpose, but one version was deleted accidentally is there any possibility of retrieving that GDG ? please advice.

I have been checking our backup activities to get it back however i would like to know is there any other possibilities. Thanks in advance

You probably do not mean version but rather generation. . .

If the deleted generatoin is on tape and the tape has not been re-used, it shold be available. Check with your storage people to learn how to properly get this back into the system

If it was on dasd, it is most likely gone. If there is no backup, suggest you move on.
Have a good one
