different ways of passing data through JCL

Post by devegouda.chage » Tue Nov 15, 2011 11:57 am

Hi,
this question is previosly asked in the forum( by rangab) but no one answered ,if any one knows theanswer please anser this.

Question> What are the other ways of passing data to a JCL to program? (I know passing of data using PARM, Instream data and datasets).

according to me only above 3 ways is possible.that is
1> using PARM
2>Instream data
3>datasets
i want to know, is there any possibilities of passing data apart from these 3 ways.
Thanks
Thanks & Regards
Dev

If you are not talking about CICS-COBOL Program, IMS-DC-COBOL Program, MQ series etc. - I believe your assumption is correct.

passing data to a JCL to program?

assume you mean from JCL to a program.

since JCL implies Batch and CICS is not Batch, ................
Dick Brenholtz
JCL, SQL and code in programs have an irritating habit of doing what you say,
not what you meant.
