Here is what I need.
I have a flat file which contains the list of the input files that needs to be processed for the day. All those files will have the same structure. Is there any way to read each filename and copy the data of all the files into one common file so that it can be used as the input in the next step. Can this be done in a JCL?
** I do not know how many file names will be there each day in the flat file. Only thing I am sure about is that the structure of the data is going to be the same for all the files.

No, as we do not know which programs you want to execute and the JCL depends on the programs. As mentioned before, JCL only lets the OS know what programs you want to execute and the resources needed by those programs. Once it has done that, which happens before the job starts, the JCL is finished with. Some programs may ne control cards. These control cards are NOT JCL but are CONTROL CARDS. _________________ Regards
