Copy from one vsam file to another vsam file

Post by albela » Thu May 02, 2013 8:48 pm

Hi ,

I am new one t this forum.

I have an vsam performance issue.

I am copying from one vsam KSDS to another VSAM KSDS.

I am using IDCAMS repro command and at the end of both input and out dsn I am using AMP=(BUFND=41).
My input file ize is 7867345.
The execution is really taking long time.

Is there anything more I can use here to reduce the run time and cost of execution.

can anyone please suggest.

Suggest you use your Sort product.
Have a good one

SORT should be faster and use fewer resources.

If you can post a LISTCAT of both VSAM files, we might get some clues about why things are slow anyway.

Depends what you call slow - you only say it is slow but provide no timings.
