use of parm keyword in mainframes

dear sir,

we are using parm in linkage section.
why should we use parm statement, how it work...

can you tell me please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Please show what yoiu are referring to. And what is it to do with COBOL? Any executable program, whatever its source language, gets linked.
