Hi,
I am trying to find a solution for the below requirement. Requesting for your help.

I have a variable say ww-text pic x(200)

WW-text can have value like:

"You have shopped for the Item "Item name" on "ww-Date" . Tax for this item is "ww-rate" and amount for the product is "ww-amt". for item "Item name2" on ww-date". Tax for this item is "ww-rate2" and amount for the product is "ww-amt2" so total amount to be paid is "ww-total". Kindly pay at the counter".

(If length of this text exceeds 200, then I should stop reporting say for example after item2, the length is 198, then I will stop)

For this I will first find all the variables and its length (like ww-item name,date,ww-rate",WW-amt"WW-Item-name 2 and so on)

I would like to know how can i use inspect to count the position from where I can place the detail.

For example: I placed the below text in the ww-text variable.
"You have shopped for the Item "Item name" on "ww-Date" . Tax for this item is "ww-rate" and amount for the product is "ww-amt". for item "

then, I am reading the file and getting the ITEM 2 values" Now I need to find position from where I can start. Is there any way in inspect to find for continuous spaces ? If so I hope I can solve this.

I am thinking of doing this with string Functionality by using delimiter by size. After posting in this forum I can able to think on different perspective rather than going in a single way!! Smile
