HOW TO INCREASE DATASET SPACE

Post by sp » Tue Apr 04, 2006 12:31 am

Hi,

I am not a mainframe expert .. however my question is .. I am trying to FTP a file onto a mainframe server and half way thru the FTP Process it errors out.

451 - Data set is out of space
451-Error(1013) Closing the data set
451 Transfer Aborted due to file error

How can I fix this issue?? How can I increase the capacity of this dataset.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

What I would suggest is preallocate the file in mainframes with the desired record lengh and give the size as per the file size that you are sending on mainframes. I think this will help.. The if its a datafile upto300MB i would suggest 25 primary and 25 secondary CYL will do ... This is a general idea of space.. to be more presize you need to calculate using the blocksize and record legth and track details.
