Mainframe only?

A friend recommended Easytrieve because we operate in a Windows environment but we need to convert some packed fields to display.

My question is: does Easytrieve work in a Windows environment? Can I use it to convert packed (comp-3) to display. Is it easy to use?

I like the fact that your have a forum. The other software they recommended had no contact information at all.

CA released easytrieve version for windows. please check in ca.com for the details.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I looked at the suggested site and the description of functions. It appears to be a report generator rather than a file manipulation tool which is what I need.

Will this software unpack a packed field? Does it offer a 30 day trial so we may test it? And does it have a support forum like this one?

packed fields -
on mainframes - yes it can.
i guess it should be able to do the same on windows.

regarding trail version - send a mail to ca.com customer help.

ca might have the forum to support that.
