invalid char

my report looks like this
110/24/11 ************** REPORT ***************
-
NUM COUNT

0 000000 1
how to eliminate the highlighted values in report.. i think its showing title with '0' ,in between title and line with '-' and line with '0'...

You are writing a "report" - which uses "carriage control" characters to control the movement down the page.

Once printed, these characters will not be on the paper.

If you want the in a file rather than a report, format and write a file, not a report.

You write them as data rather than defining report headings.

Or write the "report" you already have to dasd and then strip off the spacing characters using your sort product.

Suggest you spend lots of time reading the Easytrieve documentation as this is the best source for information. There is far more n the documentatoin than will be posted in a forum.
