Post by KS » Tue Jul 10, 2007 10:07 pm

Hi all,

I have written a program and a jcl to generate a report in the mail.
Now i wll be getting the report in the mail once the job completes.
I have an additional requirement too, that is ,

In the mail there should be a link shown that on clicking should open the contents in the mail in an excel sheet .

Can you please help?

In what environment (tso, mainframe mail, pc mail application?) will you be 'clicking' on the hyperlink that will open the Excel sheet, which will be where? (where will the excel db be stored?)

JCL, SQL and code in programs have an irritating habit of doing what you say,
not what you meant.

Now, this seems to be the right way to go about doing this task. Create the data, and send it to a repository on a secure server. Create an email to the recipient, providing the URL for them to access the data. Then, they can login to the secure server, download their file, and go about their business.
