JCL current date

hi can anyone please tell me how to get the current date using jcl and append into the file.please tell me soon thanks..

You cannot. JCL is not a programming language. You need a program to do what you want. The sort programs can do that - look in the sort part of the forum for any examples.

You need to do a better job of explaining what exactly you want to do. Show an example of your input file and what you expect for output. Explain the rules for getting from input to output. ("Append into file" is too vague a description.)

I have to FTP a file to server.
File name should be appended with current date.
Coupld you please let me know how we can do that in JCl.

No - you have not started a new topic. Also, search in the ftp part of the forum. Oh, and try to read forum rules - generally you do not re-open old topics, tailgate someone elses topic, post in the wrong section and you look to see if your question has already been asked and answered by someone else at another time.
