Post by charanit_btech » Sun Nov 21, 2010 6:22 am

Hi all,

I am working with infosys for the past 2yrs.
I am in production support in a RACF based project.
I was trained in mainframe development i.e in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2.
I have worked in an internal development project.

All i want is, i need to switch from prod.support to development or testing.
If any one can has got a solution or can help me out, plz come forward

State the above sentences in front of your Current Manager.

Suggest you start approaching the Development Team in your current company. If you appear in an interview, keeping to switch to other profile, in mind = chances are that you could prove your "desire" not the "willingness" to the interviewer. Also, then actually, it largely depends on your next employer too that how he wants to treat you. I mean, I for one, will recruit a kind of person who has good experience in that what I'm looking for ..whether it is Production Support or Development instead where, as a person, you want to grow. So chances, that a new employer will give you the role you desire for is little distant compared to trying to get that role in your current company itself...keep in mind that there are demand for all kind of roles in the market, you need to pick your own choice by your own.

Anuj
