sample ftp code

Post by Aravy » Fri May 11, 2012 5:25 pm

I have a Report generated in a dataset of a record length 1428 in jcl .

I tried ftpying the dataset via an ftp step to the microsoft outlook as an attachment but the record length limit doesnt seem to be permissible in the ftp step ..

Can i have any alternate solutions i.e. any sample code or forums to read on to solve this ??
Thanks,
Aravind Ravichandran..

You must decide which you want to do. . .

If you are sending an attachment, you are not using ftp . . . You are using e-mail.

If you want to ftp the report, it will be a different process.

Post what you have submitted and we can proceed from there.
Have a good one

that works at your site, but maybe not at the site of the TS.

communications between hardware is dependent upon the site.

the TS needs to speak with his site support and
find out what facilities are available, how they are used.

The TS should be addressing his question to his site support.

procedures used at other sites may not work at his.
and he may violate a site's procedures by using something else.

JCL, SQL and code in programs have an irritating habit of doing what you say,
not what you meant.
