Is it possible to modify the retention period of a file?

Is it possible to modify the retention period of a file? Suppose a file is retained for 45 days. Can I retain the same for 60 days without copying the file?

Yes, it is possible to change the retention period of a file.
But, In my company, we send a request to Tape file admin group to do this.
We dont have authrity to do it.
