zOS Unix command

Post by subu_2020 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 11:06 am

Hi,

I used the following PAX command for archiving..

pax -wf "//'dataset name'" 'file path'

I didn't preallocate the dataset. But the dataset is created with some default space parameters as primary 8 blocks and secondary 24 blocks.

I know that it is possible to change the space parameter using the command.

Could anyone please confirm me whether it is possible to change the default values of the dataset without using the space command?

What happened when you searched for information of the pax command parameters? There is a good amount of reading out there that will answer your question.

That gives you the clue that there is no space parameter to pax. I have never actually hard of specifying space on anything other than conventional mainframe but I have never used the unix facility within MVS/z/Os
